THE Ogun House of Assembly has inaugurated a tripartite Ad-hoc Committee to examine all petitions on illegal revenue and ticketing in all council areas of the state.

Mr Olakunle Oluomo (APC-Ifo 1), Speaker of the Assembly, performed the inauguration during plenary in Abeokuta on Tuesday.

Oluomo said the committee comprised of members of Industry, Trade and Investment, Finance and Appropriation as well as Public Accounts committees.

He added that the Deputy Speaker, Oludare Kadiri (APC-Ijebu North 11) would be the Chairman of the committee.

The speaker implored all affected individuals and groups in the state to forward their petitions on such illegal act to the Assembly through its clerk.

Oluomo added that the Assembly had received many petitions over taxation, ticketing, and illegal revenue collection, which had put untold hardship on the people.

He said this necessitated the setting up of the ad-hoc committee to address the issue within two weeks.

Also during plenary, a bill to eliminate all forms of discrimination against persons with disability and equalize their opportunities in all aspects of life in the society scaled second reading. (NAN)
