Ogun State renovates 94 schools, 20 health centres in 6 months

OGUN State Ministry of Housing said that it had renovated 94 public primary and secondary schools across the state between January and June.

Jagunmolu Omoniyi, commissioner for housing in the state stated this while presenting the ministry’s achievements before members of the state House of Assembly Committee on Lands and Housing.

Omoniyi said that the Ministry also renovated 20 primary healthcare centres in the 20 local government areas within the same period.

He said that the ministry had prepared preliminary drawings, survey and cost for the proposed construction of 23 units of residential buildings.

The project, according to him, consists of 11 three-bedroom units and 12 two-bedroom units at the workers’ estate at Laderin in Abeokuta.

“The Ministry has identified and carried out a survey of eight sites, for the provision of affordable housing in the three Senatorial Districts.

“The COVID-19 Isolation Centre in Abeokuta, which is a 250-bed facility with well equipped Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as well as the Isolation Centre at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, were constructed during the period under review.

” The four fire stations in Abeokuta, Ijebu-Ode, Ota and Sagamu, were equally given facelifts during the period,” he said.

The commissioner listed some of the other public facilities renovated to include the commissioners’ and legislative quarters in Abeokuta. (NAN)
