Okomu Oil rewards 102 staff for long service, loyalty.

NO fewer than 102 staff of Okomu oil Palm Company PLC, were on Thursday, rewarded for long service and loyalty to the firm.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that those rewarded were 60 junior staff, 13 senior staff, and 29 outsourced workers.
The Managing Director, Okomu oil palm company PLC, Dr Graham Hefer, who commended the beneficiaries, said the annual event was used to appreciate staff for their loyalty and dedication to the company.
“Today, we congratulate the awardees and hope that this award will spur you to be a role model to the younger workers having known the intricacies of the company.
” Okomu is a successful company and a force to reckon with among agricultural companies in Africa, because of your dedication and commitment”.
Hefer noted that management would not relent in its resolve to always improve on the welfare of the employees and urged the award recipients to always be ambassadors of the company at all times.
The Okomu chapter chairman of the Nigeria Union of Agriculture and Allied Employees (NUAAE) Comrade Kennedy Onyesom, represented appreciated management for always rewarding excellence, dedication and innovative employees.
Onyesom, represented by his deputy, comrade Monday Osayande,noted that the recognition and reward would obviously snowball into an increased productivity of the workforce.
The union leader also charged the employees especially, the award recipients to reciprocate the management’s gesture by redoubling their commitments to the service of the company.
Some of the beneficiaries of the award, whom included Mr Sunday Omorogbe, and Isoken Ediohon, appreciated management for the annual recognition for service to the company.
They each noted that the annual reward has had a positive impact on the attitude of the workers, as every new employee usually looked forward to receiving this award.
“It has not been easy, I want to commend the management who has aside catering for our welfare and also given us the enabling working environment that has made us excel in our various fields of endeavour”.
“To whom much is giving, much is expected, we know that much is expected of us and we will not fail to at all times contribute our quota in ensuring that Okomu remains the pride of the agricultural sector in Nigeria,” Ediohon said.
NAN reports that in the senior staff categories, two employees who had spent 15 years in the company, received 29 inch LG coloured televisions, while seven staff each received five KVA generators following 20 years in the service of the company.
In addition four senior staff similarly received complete sets of full cover upholster sitting room and bedroom furnitures after putting in 25 years of service.
In the junior category, 35 staff were given medium-sized Thermocol freezer for 15 years in the service of the company, while 19 of them received 21 inch LG coloured televisions having spent 20 years.
Similarly, six junior employees received a settee and four chair dining table having spent 25 years in the company.(NAN)
