The Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday presented certificates of return to candidates who emerged victorious in the senatorial election held across the country on February 23.

The Commission issued the certificate of return at the International Conference Centre, ICC, in Abuja, on Thursday.

House of Representatives’ members-elect are expected to take their turn later in the day.

However, the name of the Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha is missing from the list of Senators-elect who received their certificate of return.

Okorocha had won one of the senatorial seats in Imo West.

Despite declaring Okorocha winner, the electoral umpire said it would not issue certificate of return to Okorocha of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as his declaration was done under duress.

INEC had earlier announced that only those whose names appeared on its website as winners of the election would be presented with certificates.
