
Olubadan installs ex-NAN Director’s son as Mogaji Sunkunmole Family

CHIEF Uthman Lawal, a 32-year-old son of former Director of Finance and Account, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Monday joined the Olubadan of Ibadanland lineage as he was installed as the Mogaji Sunkunmole Family of Popoyemoja area, Ibadan.U
Uthman, son of Alhaja Khadijat Lawal, was installed along with other Mogajis at the Ali-Iwo Palace of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Olalekan Balogun.
The Mogaji Chieftaincy in Ibadanland represents Head of a large family and it is the first step in the Olubadan lineage.
While installing Lawal as the Mogaji, the Olubadan urged him and other newly installed Mogajis to take their new positions as a call to service and be good ambassadors of their respective families.
Balogun admonished them to shun all vices capable of tarnishing the image of their respective families and the Ibadan traditional institution.
In an interview with NAN, Uthman expressed appreciation to his family members who saw him as a reliable and capable son of the family to become their Mogaji.
He promised to discharge his duties and responsibilities very effectively toward the growth and development of the Sunkunmole Family and Ibadanland in general.
The new Mogaji assured his family members that he would not to let them down.
“I will do all my best to ensure that all out of school children in Sunkunmole Family return to schools.
“Also, empowerment and other things that will bring development to the family and Ibadanland in general, will be my priority,” Uthman promised.
Also, his mother, said she was happy and felt fulfilled to witness the installation of her son as Mogaji.
Lawal, however, promised to continue giving quality advice to the new Mogaji.
According to her, Uthman installation is God’s grace for him to be chosen by the entire Sunkunmole Family to be their Mogaji.
She described her son’s position as a rare privilege and prayed that Almighty Allah would make it possible for him to become Olubadan in future.
NAN reports that Balogun led the Olubadan-in-Council to perform the installation ceremony of all the new Mogajis.

Balogun of Ibadanland, Owolabi Olakulehin; Otun Balogun, Tajudeen Ajibola; the Osi Olubadan, Eddy Oyewole and Ashipa Balogun, Kola Adegbola.(NAN)
