Omasi monarch lauds Soludo's immortalization of Prof. Achebe

THE traditional ruler of Omasi Igwe Benjamin Okeji has expressed appreciation to Governor Chukwuma Soludo for renaming the state international airport after the late Professor Chinua Achebe.

Igwe Okeji in a press statement in Awka applauded the milestone as a worthy cause similar to his earlier pronouncement that the International Convention Centre be named after the former governor of the state Chief Willie Obiano.

The Royal father applauded the recent pronouncement of free education for pupils in the nursery to JSS 3 students cadre as a feat which is enough to earn him a second term in office.

He urged the governor to beam his searchlight on some of his revenue agents in the state with a view to monitoring their activities which leave much to be desired.

Igwe Okeji used the forum to speak on Nigeria’s 63rd independence anniversary, expressing regret that injustice against the Igbo race which championed the nation’s independence among other feats have marred its March to greatness.

He called for the return of the mandate given to Mr.Peter Obi in the February 25th presidential election as a natter of urgent importance.

On the forth coming Agricultural banquet being organized by the Faculty of Agriculture Unizik slated for the 7th of October,he welcomed his selection as the royal father of the day and stressed the imperatives of Agriculture which should be embraced.

Ahead of his Ofala festival slated for the 30th of December this year, he announced that the Deputy governor of the state Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim among other distinguished Nigerians will be given chieftaincy titles at the occasion.
