On-loan Knoche won’t rule out staying in Frankfurt beyond 2024

DEFENDER Robin Koch can see himself staying at Eintracht Frankfurt beyond a season-long loan from English club Leeds United and hopes to return into the national team for next year’s European championships in Germany.
“So far the expectations have been exceeded. We will see after one year how things will continue,” Koch told Monday’s edition of Kicker sports magazine.
Koch has played every Frankfurt game in all competitions since his arrival and he said he could imagine staying at the 2022 Europa League champions beyond next summer. His Leeds contract is until 2025.
“I feel I’m in perfect hands at Eintracht right now and I want to achieve a lot here,” he said.
The centre back won eight Germany caps between 2019 and 2021, and said it was his “aim to return into the national team. I am convinced that I can contribute my qualities there very well.” (dpa/NAN)
