THE Ondo State chapter of the Mega Party of Nigeria has alleged that the administration of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has not made any significant impact since its inception 16 months ago.
The MPN also said the government had not recorded any achievement since its inception.
The State Chairman of the party, Mr Biyi Poroye, stated this on Friday in Akure, the Ondo State capital, during the first stakeholders meeting of the party.
He said “We are not happy with the performance of the Ondo State Governor. It is ridiculous that close to two years in office, Mr Governor has done virtually nothing to the mandate he got from the people of Ondo State.
“Regrettably, the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission has suddenly been abandoned to the extent that it presently serves as a dysfunctional agency”
On the general elections in 2019, Poroye explained that the mission of the MPN was to rebuild the nation through the enthronement of credible leaders who would have solutions to the various challenges confronting the country.
However, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Akeredolu, Mr Segun Ajiboye, said Poroye was oblivious of happenings in the state, adding that his (Poroye) allegations were ill-conceived and mischievous.
He said there was a need for the MPN chairman to move round the state to see what Akeredolu’s administration had done so far before criticising the governor, saying the present administration had touched all spheres especially in the area of road construction.
“We have performed creditably well in all the sectors of the state’s economy since the inception of this administration and the good work will continue as we have touched virtually all sectors, education, agriculture, health and roads.” – Punch
