AS a mark of growing acceptability, Mr Kolapo Kola-Daisi, the Accord Senatorial candidate for Oyo South and his wife, Abisola, have been honoured with chieftaincy titles by the Onido of Ido, Oba Gbolagade Babalola.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Onido of Ido conferred the chieftaincy titles on the duo alongside others on Monday at an elaborate ceremony in Ido area of Ibadan.

NAN reports that the chieftaincy title was in addition to the three others he received in Ibarapa land in the last 10 months.

Kola-Daisi and wife, daughter of the late former Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, were installed as Otun Bobajiro of Ido and Yeye Otun Bobajiro of Ido respectively.

The senatorial candidate told newsmen after the ceremony that the new chieftaincy title conferred on him was “a great honour and privilege which can only spur me to do more for humanity”.

He restated his unwavering commitment to youths empowerment and excellent representation at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, if elected.

Kola-Daisi, however, called on the good people of Oyo State to vote for Accord party candidates in the 2023 general elections.

He assured them of all the party’s candidates determination to turn around the fortunes of the state positively.

“The people of this town will see the benefit of democracy by the special Grace of Almighty Allah.

“I will use the opportunity I have to showcase the two towns with my connections in the private sector, both at home and abroad.

“The title now will push the responsibility in me to make sure that people come to this town and further development here. We want to bring industries here for jobs creation.

“We want to make sure they have everything that they needed. We will make sure we bring people who can invest in this town, in agriculture and many others, so that lives of our people can be better,” Kola-Daisi said.

Earlier, the traditional ruler said that the chieftaincy title was befitting of Kola-Daisi’s intentions for community development and true empowerment of the people.

He described Kola-Daisi’s thoughts and plans for the youths as impressive, hoping for better rewarding future for youths in the state.

“I have listened to you clearly, and our people too have heard your plans. I must say I am impressed by your intentions and plans to implement them.

“May your intentions for Ido and Oyo South align with Allah’s will and may them be granted,” Babalola said.

Meanwhile, residents of Ido have continued to extol Kola-Daisi’s humility and contributions to community development in the state.

They described him as a young man who had excelled in his chosen career and greatly committed to youth empowerment.(NAN)
