…set for a confirmation hearing next week

THE Osun State House of Assembly Ad-hoc Committee has concluded the screening of nominees in the list sent to the Osun State House of Assembly on 4th July 2023 by the Governor, Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke.

The letter was read to the House at the plenary on Friday, 7 July 2023, by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, after which he constituted a 7-man ad-hoc committee to screen the nominees in line with legislative practice.

The Chairman of the Committee, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Akinyode Oyewusi, in his opening remark at the commencement of the screening, assured the public that his committee would thoroughly assess the academic credentials and Curriculum Vitae submitted by the nominees to achieve the best for our State and the people.

Screening of the nominees started on Tuesday, 12 July 2023, with the scrutiny of the nominee’s credentials and ideas, and the process ended today, Wednesday, 13 July 2023.

Each nominee spent an average of 20 minutes before the Committee, as the Committee members posed questions ranging from their academic background, economics and innovations at the nominees.

With the conclusion of the screening exercise, the Committee will present its report before the House, and the nominees are expected to appear before the House in a plenary session to finalise the screening process next week.
