The #OurMumuDonDo coalition group has suspended its #ResumeOrResign protests following the Tuesday, August 15, attack on the protesters by hoodlums at the Wuse Market in Abuja.
The group announced the suspension of further protests on Wednesday, August 16, at the unity fountain, Maitama, Abuja saying it needed to re-strategise.
Members of the movement were attacked by a mob at the Wuse market when Charles Oputa, an entertainer popularly known as Charly Boy, a co-convener of the protests led his group to the market to address traders.
As Charly Boy was about addressing the people some suspected hoodlums who had infiltrated the crowd, started shouting ‘Sai Baba’ and hurling missiles at the group.
Pandemonium then broke out with everyone running for dear life. In the milieu, a number of persons were sustained injuries including a journalist.
