THE Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oyo State chapter, says the entire body of Christ is in a happy mood following the re-election of Gov. Seyi Makinde as the Oyo State Governor-elect.

The Oyo State CAN chairman, Apostle Joshua Akinyemiju, made the remark in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Ibadan.

NAN reports that the Oyo State INEC had declared Makinde winner of the March 18 governorship election in the state after he defeated his opponents with a wide margin.

Akinyemiju expressed great joy that God did not fail to answer the people’s prayers.

“To God be the glory. In the build up to the election, we relied solely on Him, and He granted our hearts’ desires, so our joy is full.

“We appreciate INEC in Oyo State for the transparent and flawless job they did.

“Deriving from the results of the election, Oyo people are at home and satisfied with the giant strides of the governor in all the Zones in the State.

“It is certain that he will maintain the momentum of sustainable development in the State,” Akinyemiju said.

The Oyo State CAN boss emphasized that Makinde had acquired adequate experience, which he never got in governance before 2019.

The Clergy said that the governor would deploy his wealth of experience and expertise appropriately in the next four years, and Oyo State would be better off.

Akinyemiju urged all and sundry in the state to continue to support the governor mentally, physically and spiritually.

“We must ensure that peace reigns in the State for meaningful development to thrive.

“As an Apostle of justice, fairness and equity, he will go very far in the political terrain of Nigeria. May God be with him in Jesus name,” he said. (NAN)
