THE residents of Zion Plaza – Olusoji Avenue linking Alao Akala Expressway, Ibadan are hopeful of some relief following moves by the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency, OYSROMA, to fix the bad portions of the road.
The Chairman, OYSROMA, Busoye Ogunlade, disclosed in Ibadan, on Friday that the agency also plans to fix other bad portions of the roads in the state.
He noted that OYSROMA would also work on the drainage problem in the Zion Plaza – Olusoji Avenue linking Alao Akala Expressway area of the state capital
Ogunlade, who lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for his swift approval to the repairs on roads, stated that the agency considered the road as its first point of call due to its deplorable condition.
According to Ogunlade, repairs on the road, which lead to the residence of the governor’s main opposition in the last general election, Senator Teslim Folarin, will impact businesses and transportation in the area positively.
“The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, is a man who listens to the cries of the masses. We have been able to assess some roads in bad conditions, and we are starting a massive repair in the State. Presently, our men are at Zion Plaza – Olusoji Avenue linking Alao Akala Expressway, doing repair works,” he said.
“We are looking at having an Oyo State with zero potholes, with clearly defined outcomes of smooth roads, that will aid our socio-economic development,” Ogunlade said.
The Chairman maintained that desilting work has begun on drainage to put an end to traffic gridlock and ameliorate the plights of road users.
“We have started desilting existing drains on that road and cutting of the bad portions of road,” he added.
