Oyo SUBEB provides solar street light to 18 communities in Ibadan

CHAIRMAN, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Nureni Adeniran, says the board has provided solar street light to some communities in Ibadan South-West Local Government area

Adeniran, in a statement issued in Ibadan on Monday by his Media Aide, Mr Olamide Adeniji, said the project was part of the board’s efforts geared toward addressing epileptic power supply and insecurity within the council area.

According to him, the project is aimed at meeting the improvement of security and boosting the morale of the communities in the area.

“The main objective is to improve security and beautify urban and rural areas with adequate light for the good of Ibadan South-West residents.

“The 400 watts solar energy deployed in communities will also address the issue of insecurity in Oyo State,” he said.

Adeniran, who is also the chairman, South-West Forum of SUBEB Chairmen, commended Gov. Seyi Makinde for its commitment to the basic education sub-sector in the state.

He called on the people of the state to continue to give the governor all the necessary support to enable him to meet their demands.

The SUBEB chairman listed the communities that benefited from the street light installation to include: Ado, Okekeye, Okanto, Durodola, Elesude, Asa Adeleke, Oyetunji, Gaiza, Aretu and Eleruogun.

Others were Alajameta junction, Amunigun; CAC Oke-Imole; Asa compound mosque; Ile Federal; Oshoba Falola Agbokojo; Iyana oja, Amunigun; Aretu compound, Labaowo, Odunsi junction, Amunigun and Idi Oro,’’ he said. (NAN)
