THE Civil Liberties Organization has extolled Senator Tony Nwoye for presenting to his senatorial zone Anambra North and some selected people from other zones homongous palliatives ranging from generators, grinding machines, sewing machines, bags of rice and cash ranging from N10,000 to N50,000 to 1400 persons.

In a statement, the organization said that it was overwhelmed and humbled when the distinguished Senator Nwoye stated that he personally provided them and not from federal government.

“We commend him and still expect him to also access Federal Government Palliatives to enable more citizens to benefit.

“We similarly thank distinguished Senator Victor Umeh for his judicious and transparent disbursement of Federal Government Palliatives for his Anambra Central Senatorial Zone. We also expect distribution of Solar Energy, which is also part of federal government palliative to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal and hyper-inflation in the country.

We appeal to other members of the National Assembly to emulate them and commence disbursement of Federal Government Palliatives to ameliorate excruciating sufferings of the citizenry,” the group said.

The CLO equally thanks Afam Ogene for the payment of NECO fees of 18 students of Ogbaru High School, Ogbakuba.

Similarly, CLO called on enforcement agents of the Anambra State Government on illegal structures and decongestion of roads to be human in discharging their duties.

It added that the destruction of goods of petty traders in the name of decongesting of road at this economic predicament is inhumane, anti people, barbaric, wicked most despicable and detestable.

“It is unbelievable that petty traders this morning near Federal Government College 3-3 Onitsha as it happened in Awka recently, are crying and lamenting that they came this morning and saw that their wares and properties were destroyed by the agents of the government,” it said.

It urged the government to relocate them and provide alternative conducive places of doing business as most of them are bread winners of their respective families and law abiding citizens.

The group also urged the government to commence training and retraining of the workers responsible for road decongestion in order to instill discipline, selflessness, patriotism, decorum and civility in them.
