IGP Adamu mourns DCP Mamman Rijau

THE Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, on Thursday expressed shock over the death of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Delta Command, Mamman Rijau.

Rijau died on Tuesday in Abuja after a brief illness at the age of 56. Adamu in a condolence message during his visit to the deceased’s residence in Minna described Rijau as a gallant and courageous officer.

The inspector-general who was represented by the Commissioner of Police in Niger, Adamu Usman, noted that the deceased distinguished himself in service to the nation.

“The late Deputy Commissioner of Police lived a good life worthy of emulation.

“I want to express my sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family of late Mamman Saleh Rijau, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command,” Adamu said.

He prayed the Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, remember his good works, grant his soul eternal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Rijau left behind two wives, eight children and an aged mother. He has since been buried according to Islamic rites. (NAN)
