SAHEEB Adeniyi Adisa, a pastor of Pentecostal Church Cleric, has been erroneously shot dead during a cross fire between the Ogun State Security outfit, So-Safe-Corps and kidnappers at Abule-Ori in Obafemi-Owode local Government Area of the state.

The sad discovery was made known by the commander of the agency, Commander Soji Ganzallo at a press conference attended by the widows and children of the late clergyman, held at headquarters of the security outfit in Abeokuta

The commander who lamented the loss of the cleric during the efforts by the officials of the agency to rescue the kidnapped victims, explained that it was during the frantic move to ensure that the abductees were rescue from the forest that the unfortunate incident occurred.

‘The kidnapping case took place on July 15th 2023 at Abule Ori in Obafemi-Owode Local Government. So-Safe-Corps rescued 7 church members kidnapped, ironically during the cross fire with the bandits, the pastor was hit by the bullets’, Ganzallo explained

He explained further that  after through investigation it was discovered that the unnamed suspect then, was later identified to be Pastor Saheeb Adeniyi Adisa of Oke-Olokun, Ibadan, Oyo State, who was also a victim of kidnapping.

The Commander expressed regret over the unfortunate incident, and condoled with the bereaved family with assurance that the authority in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, Ogun State Command will compensate the family

‘The incident was unfortunate, as investigation later revealed that the unnamed suspect then was later identified to be Pastor Saheeb Adeniyi Adisa of Oke-Olokun, Ibadan, Oyo State, was also a victim of kidnapping’, Ganzallo stated

The family members at the press conference to put the record straight and correct the wrong insinuations that the cleric was a member of the kidnap gang include Mrs Temilade Adisa and Olubukola Adisa (widows), as well as Adewunmi Adelaja(daughter) and Adeyemi Adisa (son).

The son of the deceased, who responded on behalf of the family,  commended the So-Safe-Corps for putting the records right over the incident, contrary to earlier report which tagged their father as member of the kidnap gang.

The bereaved while not faulting the role played by the So-Safe-Corps in rescuing the victims of the kidnappers, he noted that it was unfortunate that his father was erroneously killed during the cross fire
