Paul Ejime, others to receive the West Africa Icon Award, August 17

THE Elation Magazine, a publication of Elation Communications, has nominated Paul Ejime, an author, global affairs analyst, and consultant on Peace, Security and Governance Communications for the West Africa Icon Award, WAIA 2024.
In a letter signed by Darlinghtyn Momoh Umoru, editor-in-chief and director, WAIA, Ejime will receive the award for his contributions and recognizable achievements in the area of Human Capital Development in Nigeria and the West African Sub-region.
Notifying him of his nomination in a letter dated April 25, 2024, Umoru said that Ejime alongside a few other distinguished persons that have excelled in their respective fields and have met the required conditions for selection would be honoured at the National Merit Award Secretariat (MeritHouse), Maitama, Abuja, on Saturday August 17, 2024.
The Elation Magazine has given the award to 65 other prominent sons of Africa including: former late President Jerry Rawlings of Ghana, former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Kwado Afari-Gyan (Ghana); Senator Dr, Bukar Abba Ibrahim; Senator Ben Ndi Obi, Senator Nimi Barigha Amange, Senator Emmanuel Yisa Orker Jev, Blankson George Kuntu (Ghana Parliamentarian); Sabo Usman Ibrahim; Adamu Gora Kalba; Ibraheem -Gbabijo A. Moshood (Fmr MHR); Baba Shehu Agaie and Boniface Archibong.
Part of the nomination letter reads
“I am glad to notify our revered nominee, while also felicitating with you on this successful verification and subsequent acceptance as one of those special breeds judged worthy to be conferred with the prestigious WEST AFRICA ICON AWARD for 2024.
“Consequently, Mr. Paul Ejime, alongside a few other distinguished persons that have excelled in their respective fields and have met the required conditions for selection would therefore be honoured at the National Merit Award Secretariat (Merit House), Maitama, Abuja, on Saturday August 17,2024.
“Aside a golden plaque and certificate with the corporate seal of Elation Magazine and the Royal International Magazine, which you are to receive, you shall equally be decorated with a medal that will distinctly distinguish you from other guests at the ceremony.”
Realnews reports that Ejime has been a journalist for more than 40 years and was once a war correspondent during the Liberian war where along side other journalists, he worked hard to give the world news about the crisis.
