FEDERAL Road Safety Corps (FRSC), on Tuesday, advised traffic offenders whose vehicles were impounded in Osun, Oyo and Ondo states to pay their fines promptly to avoid litigation.

FRSC Zonal Commanding Officer, comprising Osun, Oyo and Ondo states, Mr Meshach Jatau, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Osogbo.

Jatau said the prescribed fines were expected to be paid within seven days from the date the tickets were issued to traffic offenders.

The zonal commanding officer frowned on situations where offenders abandoned their vehicles instead of paying the prescribed fines.

“The zone has noticed with dismay that instead of paying the prescribed fines and retrieve their vehicle documents, traffic offenders abandon their particulars/impounded vehicles in FRSC offices at will. This is not acceptable,” he said. (NAN)
