PDP congratulates Diri on tribunal victory
Politics
THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated Gov. Douye Diri of Bayelsa over his victory at the State Governorship Election Tribunal which upheld his re-election as the state governor.
The party said this in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Debo Ologunagba on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said that the judgment had upheld the expressed will of the people of Bayelsa in their unbending resolve to sustain purposeful leadership in the state.
Ologunagba said the spontaneous jubilation in the state after the judgment was a testimony that the decision of the tribunal was in line with the democratic desire of the people as expressed at the poll.
He said that PDP was proud of Diri’s excellent performance as evident in his massive infrastructure, citizens’ empowerment and human capital development programmes and projects in the state.
This according to him was in line with the manifesto and policy thrust of the PDP and for which the people of Bayelsa overwhelmingly re-elected him as governor.
Ologunagba urged Diri to continue with his good works.
While appreciating the people of Bayelsa for their unwavering support for the PDP, Ologunagba urged them to continue in that spirit in their quest to sustain good governance in the state.(NAN)
