PDP releases timetable for Anambra gubernatorial election

THE Peoples Democratic Party has released a time table for the upcoming gubernatorial election in Anambra state.

In a letter dated Wednesday February, 17, 2021 and signed by Austin Akobundu, the National Organising Secretary of the party and addressed to Ndubuisi Nwobu the state Chairman of the party, Akobundun recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had earlier on released its timetable and schedule of activities for the governorship election and therefore called the attention of the PDP state chairman, to the party’s timetable which has been approved and which is also in conformity with INEC’s timetable.

Akobundun also noted in the letter that the stipulated N20 million fee for nomination of gubernatorial candidates, approved by the National Executive Committee of the party stands, while fee for Expression of Interest remains N1 million flat.

“However for all female aspirants, nomination forms remain free, only fees for Expression of Interest form are applicable,“ he added.

He directed the state party chairman to commence all necessary preparations for a smooth and hitch-free conduct in line with the constitution and guideline of the party as well as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control,NCDC, protocol on Covid-19, to ensure all necessary safety precautionary measures.
