ABUBAKAR Momoh, the Edo North Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Wednesday said that the party would tackle the country’s security challenges if victorious in the 2019 general elections.

Momoh said this in Fugar, Etsako Central Local Government Area of the state at a rally by the party ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

He said that tackling insecurity and every form of unrest in the country would be in the front burner and a priority of a PDP-led administration in the country.

Momoh, however, urged members of the party who had yet to collect their PVCs to do so to avoid being disenfranchised during the elections.

He criticised the TraderMoni scheme of the Federal Government, saying the funds should be channelled into revitalising the nation’s moribund companies to create jobs.

The party’s Chairman in the state, Chief Dan Orbih, reiterated the need for the electorate to choose a leader who would constantly listen to the yearnings of the people.

Orbih, who said that the PDP was the only party that could tackle the challenges in the country, expressed the belief that the people were ready for a change.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that no fewer than 700 members of some political parties defected to the PDP at the rally.

NAN also reports that the campaign team was at Okpella in Etsako East Local Government Area where some defectors were also received into the fold of the party
