PENSIONERS in Aguata zone of Anambra State, received their pensions along with a 25kg bag of rice for Christmas celebration.

The bags of rice were part of Governor Willie Obiano’s gift to enable the pensioners to also enjoy the yuletide season, just like those still in active service.

Fidelis Nwene, who was among beneficiaries, thanked the government for the gesture.

One Nsofor, while showing appreciation for the gift, called on pensioners to be honest in not collecting bags of rice meant for their colleagues.

Deborah Ubah, another beneficiary, prayed God to bless Obiano for giving Christmas gifts to pensioners every yuletide, irrespective of the fact that they were no longer in active service.
