The National Coordinator of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Broom Revolution, Mohammed Abubakar, has expressed optimism that President Muhammadu Buhari would be re-elected on the strength of his performance and achievements.

Abubakar, who disclosed this at a news conference in Lokoja on Friday, said the successes recorded in the fight against corruption and other achievements of the President had placed him in good stead against other candidates.

“The scorecard of President Muhammadu Buhari shows that people no longer have a field day at the National Treasury.

“Having tamed the thieves, the next efforts by the President would be development of infrastructure,”he said.

According to Abubakar, under the present administration, roads are beeing fixed, the railways are now working, decayed and abandoned projects are now functional, among several other ongoing and completed projects.

“President Buhari has done well and deserves a re-election in the February election to enable him to continue the good works he has started,” he said.

The Broom Revolution coordinator, however, cautioned security agencies to up their games against insinuations that some leaders of the opposition party were planning evil against the President.

Abubakar, therefore, called on security agencies to beef up security around the President.

“The PDP having sensed that they have lost out in the forthcoming elections would want to get it through desperate means by causing anarchy and mayhem.

“Hence, the need to investigate the allegations of the opposition, who may be hiding under the allegation to attack the leadership of the APC and the Presidency,”he said. (NAN)
