THE Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Police Affairs, Dr Nasir Gwazor, has called on corporate organisations to support the Nigeria Police through their Corporate Social Responsibility.

Gwazor made the call on Tuesday in Abuja during a courtesy visit by a delegation from Messrs Yusumar Construction Limited led by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Abdullahi  Yahaya.

The Permanent Secretary, represented by the Director, Police Services in the ministry, Malam Ibrahim Biu, said the visit was to support the Federal Government efforts in strengthening security in the country.

Gwazor said the role of the police in the provision of security was crucial to both citizens and corporate institutions.

According to him, Nigerians and corporate institutions operating in the country owe the Nigeria Police a responsibility to provide the needed assistance for effective service delivery.

“There are certain services we can render as individually or corporate body on our own to promote the Nigeria Police.

“My call is that Nigerians who have the opportunity to contribute to the services of the Nigeria Police should please, come forward to do so.

“I think it is not out of place; just like the Messrs Yusumar Construction Limited has come to identify with the Nigeria Police,” he said.

Gwazor commended the construction company for decision to help renovate a block of two bedrooms in the Nigeria Police College, Kaduna.

He said such humanitarian service was worthy of emulation by other Nigerians and institution in appreciation of what the police were doing.

In his remark, Yahaya said the visit was a mark of solidarity to support the Federal Government in enhancing security of the country.

He said the visit was also to support the Minister of Police Affairs, Sen. Ibrahim Gaidam, in the realisation of his dream to provide the needed security in the country. (NAN)
