THE National leader of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, will, on Oct. 24, begin a three-day tour of three cities the United States of America (USA).

A statement issued by Ibrahim Umar, of Peter Obi Media Reach, in Abuja on Wednesday, said that the LP presidential candidate in the 2023 general would end the tour on Oct. 26.

Umar said that during the tour, Obi would visit three US cities of Houston, Los Angeles and Atlanta.

According to him, the former presidential candidate would interact with Nigerians in the Diaspora, in keeping with his avowed determination to lead the search for a new Nigeria.

He further stated that the tour would be the last leg of his North America Appreciation visits that had earlier taken him to Toronto, Canada, Boston, New York City, West Orange, Cherry, Dallas, Charlotte and Detroit.

“The tour is also to underscore Mr Obi’s commitment during the 2023 electioneering to consistently engage Nigerians in the Diaspora and interact with them constructively in nation-building debate for the creation of a new Nigeria.

“He will also use the tour to sustain a new narrative where, unlike before, politicians only visit the national population when seeking their votes and support but hardly returns after elections to show appreciation,” Umar said.

He added that the tour would also be mostly interactive, as it would afford Obi the opportunity to answer questions, unveil his mission for a new Nigeria and also react to the ‘unpalatable state of the nation’.

Umar said that the former Anambra governor remained grateful to Nigerians at home and abroad for their continued show of unwavering support as well as their trust in him morally, materially and financially during the 2023 presidential elections. (NAN)
