ANYBODY expecting a downcast man in HE Peter Obi after the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Court last Wednesday, was certainly up the wrong tree. It is not in PO’s character to pause in  any journey without reaching the destination.

Those privileged to be around when he welcomed some members of the press to his residence at Onitsha yesterday, September 7, must have noticed a man sound in physical, mental and psychological state. And more, in his philosophical best!

He said repeatedly during campaigns that he was not desperate to be Nigeria’s president, but quite desperate to see a Nigeria that works. A Nigeria where the right things should always be done!

While delivering judgement on his petition against HE Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday September 6, the Justice Haruna Tsammani-led five-man panel evidently did not do the right things when they dismissed every ground of his petition and that of his party, Labour Party in a bizarre manner.

He is not a man to surrender, no matter the setback, especially when there is still a legal window to explore in continuation of the struggle to get things working appropriately in his dear country.

Oh, yes…he has instructed his lawyers to proceed to the Supreme Court. Whoever thinks it is over should better start rethinking.

“I thank every Nigerian who has supported our cause and campaign for a New Nigeria characterized by fairness, equity, justice, the rule of law, peace, prosperity, inclusiveness, sustainable growth, and development. A New Nigeria is possible and achievable. I especially thank our legal team, the Labour Party and the Obidient Family, and all those who showed up daily during the court trials. God bless you all, and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,”_ the Labour Party presidential candidate concluded.
