MANSUR Abudullahi ,  Vice President  of Para-soccer Federation of Nigeria (PFN), has called on Civil Societies, NGOs and Sport stakeholders to invest in sports in the country.

Abdullahi made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja.

He said sports in the country had gone beyond leaving it to the Federal Government alone, hence the need for partnership in sector.

Abdullahi, who lauded the efforts of the Gabify foundation for the donation of Sports equipment to the federation, said such initiative was worth emulating to encourage sports men and women.

He said that Gabify Foundation s just donated jerseys , balls and hand gloves  to  the PFN to  help promote the game at the grassroots level in the country.

“I am happy for what the foundation has done and we will always be like Oliver Twist, we will always ask for more.

“ I am calling on other foundations  to key in to help improve the standard of sports in the country,“he said.

Abdullahi said the para-soccer players have also expressed happiness over the foundation’s gesture to promote the soccer federation.

“I appreciate them and we expect to get more of this as time goes on. This is also contained in the agreement we had in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU ) with them,”he said.(NAN)
