ODE-Itsekiri, an Itsekiri Renaissance Group (IRG) has unveiled an IT Project for youth development.
The project will provide Basic IT skills & free wifi, and will train up to 500 youths annually.
Other objectives of the centre according to the IRG is to:
Serves as capacity building towards job creation for Itsekiri youths, focusing on weekly IT & allied instruction on concepts like Basic Computing, Coding, Business Management and Business Analytics.
It will also serve as a hub for small scale Conferences, Research and other activities,
contributing to growth of Ode-Itsekiri.
The group also noted that the model will encourage and attract youths from Itsekiri & other
communities to the IRG IT Resource Center which will be powered by a generator with Solar/Wind backup power, and necessary security arrangements in place for the Center.
