THE Plateau University, Bokkos, on Wednesday, matriculated 4,000 fresh students into its various faculties and departments for the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions.

Speaking at the event on Wednesday in Jos, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Bernard Matur, congratulated the students for being the lucky ones to be admitted.

Matur called on the students to shun all forms of social vices during their academic journey in the university.

”It is a privilege that you are admitted out of the thousands that applied to be students in this university. I congratulate you all.

”I urge all of you to take advantage of the best opportunity to access premium quality and affordable education in this great institution.

”You should embrace hard work and exhibit quality attitudes at all times,” he said.

He said that the vision of the institution was to transform young people in learning and character, and assured parents and guardians that their wards were in the right place to acquire quality education.

He further assured parents of the safety of their wards, insisting that his administration had taken stringent measures to secure the lives and properties of students and staff of the institution.

The vice-chancellor thanked Gov. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau for his unwavering support toward the growth and development of the university and education in general.

The Speaker of the Plateau House of Assembly, Mr Gabriel Dawan, also congratulated the newly matriculated students.

He equally commended the governor of the state for putting efforts toward the provision of quality education in the state.
