THE Plateau Government has rejected suggestions that it was planning to sell off the liaison office in Kaduna.

Prof. Danladi Atu, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), dismissed the allegation while briefing newsmen on Tuesday in Jos.

Atu said that the Simon Lalong-led administration was purchasing more properties for the state and would never sell what Plateau had.

“Currently, Plateau government has five properties in Kaduna, the liaison office inclusive. None of these properties had titles.

“’Because of the on-going implementation of the master plan by the Kaduna State government, we needed to do something about those structures.

“For the liaison office, we decided to give it to a private developer based on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement.

“So, it is not true that we want to sell any government property anywhere. In fact, we are buying back properties sold by previous administrations.

“A good example is the Barc Farms which was sold out. We have bought it back.

“’So, it is uncharitable to say that this government wants to sell a property that belongs to the state; it is fake news,” he said. (NAN)
