A poet, Mrs Ololade Ajayi, has launched a  collection of poetry written to help restore hope to survivors  of Sexual and Gender-Based-Violence.

Ajayi, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN)on Wednesday, said the collection ,titled: “The Rheavolution ” was launched at the  2023 Writers Interactive Network Literary Festival (WINLITFEST) on Saturday in Lagos .

The poet said that her new work was written from experiences shared by  traumatised SGBV victims on her bibliotherapy podcast, tagged: ‘DOHS Podcast’.

She stated that the podcast was designed to encourage survivors and others  to speak up against abuse and all forms of violence against women and children.

“The Rheavolution is not just a collection of poetry.

” It is a communication  between advocates and victims on resisting abuse and a call to arms for budding feminists and activists.

” The poem is a therapeutic approach that explores the power of words to bring about change and can be found on Amazon and other E-book platforms,” she said.

According to her, the collection also features poems written in her dialect ,and  was also written to  remember  youths who died during the  #EndSARS protest  in October 2020 .(NAN)
