Police ban unauthorised non-state actors from State Assembly election in Osun

THE Police Command in Osun, on Wednesday, warned unauthorised non-state actors and establishments to steer clear of  the State House of Assembly Election, now postponed to Saturday, 18 March.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo by SP Yemisi Opalola, the Command’s Spokesperson,  any non-state actors or organisation that flouts the directive would be sanctioned appropriately.

“Ahead of the State House of Assembly Election, the Nigeria Police Force, Osun State Command, is using this medium to warn all non-state actors, security outfits and organisations, not constitutionally empowered to participate in election duty, to steer clear off all courses of the electoral processes.

“Any organization or groups, in whatever name, found flouting this warning will be sanctioned, in accordance with the extant laws.

“They are to go to their various polling units as voters to exercise their franchise without wearing their uniforms.

“In the same vein, the following are the distress call numbers/help lines to call during the period of elections: Control room number: 08039537995, 08075872433, 08123823981.
