Police parade 13 Vicious Kidnap-for-Ransom Armed Robbers

THE Nigeria Police Force has renewed its commitment to ensure adequate protection, safety and security of lives and properties of travellers and communities on Abuja-Suleja-Bida-Minna highways and other major roads across the country has continued to yield positive results.
The Special Tactical Squad attached to Operation Absolute Sanity, consequent on the directive of Ibrahim Idris, inspector general of police, IGP, that all criminal elements terrorizing innocent people be routed-out and prosecuted and also in furtherance to its effort to mop up fire arms and bring to book all those illegally possessing of prohibited firearms in the country and using it to terrorise innocent Nigerians on major highways, arrested 13 gangs members responsible for several Kidnappings/armed robbery, cattle rustling and car snatching along the Abuja-Suleja-Bida-Minna highway and recovered the Four (4) Ak47 rifles and other exhibits listed above from their possession.
The suspects are Alha Ali, 35, who procures arms for the gang; Ashafa Aliyu, 32; Isah Ibrahim, 22; Jalel Shehu, 20, and Babaginda Hassan, 20.
Members of the second kidnapping, armed robbery and cattle rustling gang are Abdulahi Ibrahim a.k.a KB,35 (gang leader; Garuba Haruna, 37, Shehu Abdullahi, 29 and Hudu Yahaha, 30.
Members of the third trans-border/armed robbery/car snatching gang Mohammed Nasiru,42 (gang leader); Mohammed Bashar, 38; Umar Isigaku, Zayyan Sani, 35 (procures ammunition for the gang).
Exhibit recovered from them include four AK47 rifles and two dane guns.
Most of the suspects were arrested in the act after exchange of gun fire with the personnel of the IGP Special Tactical Squad attached to Operation Absolute Sanity in their hideouts along Abuja – Minna Road. Three victims were rescued from their captivities and have been reunited with their families.
The suspects confessed and admitted the various criminal roles they played in the commission of the crimes.
Investigation is ongoing to arrest other members of the gangs at large. The suspects will be arraigned in Court for prosecution on completion of investigation. Meanwhile, the Force wishes to call on members of the public that their vehicles were snatched or removed from where parked to go to Niger State Police Command Headquarters for identification and collection.
