Law enforcement agents, on Monday in Kano, sealed off all locations slated for the conduct of the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship primaries, following a court order restraining the exercise pending the determination of the authentic leadership of the party in the state.

As early as 8 am on Sunday, heavily armed policemen had cordoned off Marahba Cinema in Farm Centre, one of the venues scheduled for the conduct of the governorship primaries.

Also, policemen laid permanent siege to the Sokoto road campaign office of Ibrahim Little, where the caretaker committee members had been scheduled to meet.

Virtually everywhere in the metropolis had the presence of security agents, as they were busy patrolling all PDP offices, ostensibly to ensure absolute compliance with the court order, and to also ensure security of lives and property.

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s campaign office on Lugard Road was not left out, as policemen were seen patrolling the area and the adjoining streets.

As at the time of filing this report, heavy police presence was noticed in all PDP’s meeting points within the metropolitan city of Kano. – Punch
