Police search for driver who allegedly mowed down woman in Ibadan

THE Police Command in Oyo State, says it is searching for a driver who allegedly went over a woman with his car following an argument.

The incident was said to have occurred on Oct. 14 at Ojo area of Ibadan.

The 48-year-old woman, Mrs Abimbola Uthman, was said to have died from the incident.

The News Agency of  Nigeria (NAN) gathered that the man allegedly hit the woman’s car at the back and when she went out of the car to protest, the man warned her to move aside or he would drive over her.

When she refused to budge, the driver allegedly mowed down the woman and drove off.

The command Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, however told NAN in a text message that the police were hunting for the suspect.

“Investigation has commenced. Updates would be provided accordingly, please,” Osifeso said. (NAN)
