Police seek synergy with NCoS to improve security in Enugu

THE Nigerian Police Commmand in Enugu State says it is seeking synergy with the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS),to improve asecurity in the state.

The new Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr Ahmed Ammani, said this on Friday when he paid a courtesy visit to Mr Nicholas Obiako,Controller of Corrections in Enugu.

Ammani said that he came to chart a new course on how to provide better public protection and safety in the state.

“As a critical stakeholder in the criminal justice system, we are here to explore ways of improving what is on ground in terms of security and safety of our people,” he said.

He commended the NCoS Command in the state for being a worthy partner of the police .

“And we look forward to a better working relationship between both services during my tenure,”he said.

Responding, Obiako, lauded the commissioner for the visit and solidarity.

The controller said that the relationship between both services was long-standing.

He promised to give the commissioner the necessary assistance to achieve adequate security of lives and property in the state .

According to him , both services naturally exist to complement each other.

“I wish you (commissioner) a blissful stay in the state and the command is looking forward to a good working relationship as well,” he said. (NAN)
