Anambra HOS receives Integrity Stewardship Award

Harry Udu, the Anambra State head of service, HOS, has been adorned with Certificate of Integrity Stewardship Award by members of Advocacy for Peace and Value Re-Orientation organisation.

The organisation which is a non-governmental and professional skilled volunteers working toward free corrupt society and promoting ethical leadership presented HOS with the award for his outstanding leadership in service.

Abraham Abubakar, executive director of the organisation, said that part of the organisation’s programme is to inculcate the zeal for selfless service and exposure of corrupt practices.

“The organisation also aims at rewarding the most service -oriented leaders through a well conducted Confidential Independent Assessment,’’ Abubakar added.

He noted that their assessment targets outstanding citizens, selfless politicians whose actions and words connote integrity and true service to humanity.

Abubakar emphasized that the assessment exercise was conducted through opinion polls, questionnaires and interviews with informants on any personality under study.

He explained that the assessment conducted on Harry Udu, came out outstanding as the most ‘Ethical Responsible Personality’.

He listed other areas where the HOS excelled to include display of ethical leadership, development policy performance, commitment to state government’s transformation and obedient to the rule of law.

Abubakar added that the HOS has been instrumental in the area of sound and effective civil service development policies.

Udu thanked the team for the finding him worthy to receive the award.

He dedicated the award to Obiano and the diligent workers who work tirelessly for effective service delivery.

“I am happy because you are doing this advocacy for the good of the country, dedicating yourselves and time to this course is something exceptional and worthy of commendation.

“The office of the HOS is a leadership and coordinating office that galvanises the entire workforce and public service is the engine that sustains government’s policies,’’ he said.

Udu, however, urged them to continue staying focused in their course of advocacy to make things right as nation building was a collective affair.

Adebayo Ojeyinka, the acting director, Public Service Office, PSO, commended the team for their efforts in compilation and finding the HOS worthy of the award.

Ojeyinka described the HOS as an indefatigable and humble personality that has the interest of the state workforce at heart.

“We are very proud and inspired to have Udu as our head of service,’’ Ojeyinka said.

He prayed God to grant the team safe trip back to their destination.
