Anambra to deploy more security forces to Obosi to forestall breakdown of law, order too

THE Anambra State government has resolved to reinforce security in Obosi and environs to forestall crime and criminality in the area.

Governor Willie Obiano announced this at Afor Adike Stadium, Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area during his ongoing “thank you visit.”

“Arrangements have been finalised to deploy more security forces to guarantee safety of lives and property.”

He ordered all miscreants to flee from Anambra as his administration recently unveiled security strategy to become operational soon.

The governor said his administration invested N2.2 billion toward control of erosion menace, threatening the community.

Asha Nnabuife, the transition committee chairman, Idemili North LGA, said they would join to consolidate their support for APGA in Obosi to ensure victory of its candidates at the polls.

He noted that it was regrettable that Obosi’s performance in the last election was not satisfactory, but pledged to change the narrative by delivering APGA candidates during the election.

Emeka Okoye, the managing director Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency, ARMA, noted that the government facilitated the reconstruction of various roads connecting Obosi and Onitsha.

Greg Obi, the commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, stressed that the government under Obiano touched every community through his N20 million Community Choose Your Project Initiative.

He added that Obosi urban and the inland town would benefit independently from government’s largesse.

Dan Chuke, a former minister of Defence, commended the government for the many development initiatives that helped to strengthen the economy of the state.

Amaechi Mgbakogu, the provost, College of Health Technology, Obosi, noted that Obiano was the first governor to deploy huge financial resources toward refurbishing the college.

Mgbakogu pointed out that the college had since gained accreditation and enrolled in the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC.
