Anambra workers jubilate on receiving 2018 leave allowance

Ahead of the festive period, the Anambra State government causes its workers to smile with the payment of outstanding leave allowances

 

 

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State brought smiles to faces of civil servants again, by offsetting leave allowances of workers.

The leave allowances have come in handy to assist many workers to look forward to celebrating eventful Christmas season.

It came as a surprise as many civil servants, who were not even expecting the payment; the timely arrival of November salaries has also added to getting people set to have very fruitful celebrations.

The governor has also pledged to pay the December salaries by December 15; this is all geared toward making them to enjoy their yuletide season.

In addition to this, the governor had earlier directed that at least a bag of rice each be given to each civil servant early in November.

According to Emeka Okafor, staff of Ministry of Urban and Regional Planning, the governor has done tremendously well, when it comes to workers’ affairs.

“I wish the next governor that to succeed him will follow in Gov. Willie Obiano’s footsteps.’’

Nneka Uzuegbunam of the Ministry of Works prayed God to bless the `Alert governor.’

“The leave allowance has come as a big relief. It will help me to make my Christmas purchases in good time before the usual hike in prices during this type of celebration.’’

One Obi Ezenagu, who deals in timber in Ihiala, said the payment of leave allowance would help money to circulate well in the state.
