Buhari Goes to France on Official Visit

President Muhammadu Buhari travels to Paris, France, for a three-day official visit
PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has left Nigeria this morning for Paris, France to start a three-day official visit at the invitation of President Francois Hollande.
Apart from his scheduled meeting with President Hollande at the Elysee Palace on Monday evening, Buhari and his team will also confer with Jean-Yves Le Drian, French minister of defence, Michel Sapin, French minister of finance and public accounts, Emmanuel Macron, French minister of economy and industry, and Laurent Fabius, French minister of foreign affairs and international development.
The President will visit the headquarters of MEDEF, France’s largest federation of investors and employers, where he will participate in a France/Nigeria Investment Forum with leading Nigerian and French entrepreneurs. He will also confer with the Chief Executive Officers of leading French multinational companies such as Total and Lafarge on their current and future investments in Nigeria.
The President’s other scheduled engagements in Paris include a meeting with African Ambassadors to France and an interactive session with members of the Nigerian community.
According to a statement issued by Femi Adesina, spokesperson of the president on Media and Publicity on Sunday said Buhari will end his return to Nigeria on Wednesday, September 16.
Top government functionaries who have travelled with President Buhari are Major-Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd.), national security adviser, permanent secretaries in the federal ministries of defence, finance, agriculture, foreign affairs, industry, trade and investment as well as the chief executives of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission and the Nigerian Export Promotion Council.
