Corps appeals to states to help distribute unclaimed licences in states

THE Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, said the Joint Tax Board, JTB, was still in custody of many unclaimed drivers’ licences produced for various states.

A statement by Boboye Oyeyemi, the corp marshal and chief executive, said that currently there were as many as 292,234 drivers licences that had yet to be distributed to their respective owners.

“The Corps encourages all affected and listed state Internal Revenue Service, SIRS, to distribute these unclaimed driver’s licences using any means necessary.”

He listed some of these means to include but not limited to bulk short message, SMS, personal phone calls to licence owners and joint awareness patrols by FRSC/VIO/BIR”.

“The states are advised to make use of any of the mentioned means to distribute these licences to their various owners within the next two weeks.’’
