–

MONDAY Igbuya, speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, has described as “absurd” to suggest he was working against Ighoyota Amori, a senator representing the state. Rather, Iguya said he remained loyal to Amori and his leadership.

“I will forever be grateful to him for his immense contributions to the success of my political career,” he said.

Igbuya said his statement on the chairmanship of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Delta State chapter was misunderstood by some individuals in the state. “I’ll continue to support my leader, Chief Ighoyota Amori,” he said.

The speaker, who spoke to journalists in Asaba on Monday, March 21, praised Amori for his efforts at providing strong leadership in Delta Central.

He urged political enemies to change the lens through which they viewed issues. “If there is something to be done at the national level, Amori is the person to do it,” he said.

Igbuya, a thoughtful politician, described as harsh the language and words employed by Annabel Ogheneganre of Urhobo Voice in a recent article on Olorogun Felix Ibru, Urhobo and 2019.

He said it was intended to pitch him against Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the good people of the Urhobo nation.

The speaker who reiterated Amori’s commitment to the overall well-being of the Urhobo people, appealed to those generating rumours to join hands with Governor Okowa in the onerous task of moving the state forward. ‎
