A Non-Governmental Organisation, Centre for the vulnerable and the underprivileged CENTREP) has advised the electorate to shun all forms of violence, inducements by desperate politicians before, during and after the forthcoming general election.

The advice is contained in a statement signed by the Executive Director of CENTREP, Mr Oghenejabor Ikimi, and made available to newsmen in Warri on Monday.

Ikimi urged the electorate to conduct themselves in a proper manner and vote candidates of their choice without accepting any form of gratification from politicians.

“Our attention has been drawn to pockets of political violence nationwide between supporters of major rival political parties and the various forms of inducements by desperate politicians.

“It is on basis of the above that we call on the electorate to eschew all forms of political violence, inducements and manipulations.

“They should not allow themselves to be used as political thugs, rather they should vote candidates of their choice during the election,”he said.

He urged the people to be law abiding before, during and after the election. (NAN)
