THE Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Anambra State says it has started calling back materials already deployed for last Saturday’s postponed elections.

They were being mopped up to ensure their safety.

Leo Nkedife, head, Voter Education and Publicity, INEC State Headquarters, Awka, said this in an interview.

Nkedife explained that all ballot papers and result sheets were being returned to the vault of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Awka, from where they were distributed.

He also announced that the Smart Card Readers were being delivered to the State INEC headquarters for adequate safe-keeping.

Nkedife, however, noted that he could not confirm the Local Government Areas that had completely returned their electoral materials.
