WALTER Okafor, a cleric, has urged Catholic faithful to bear good fruits at all times in order to attain heaven.

Okafor, who is the chaplain, St. Michael’s Model Comprehensive Secondary School, Nimo, gave the advice in a homily at the school chaplaincy.

He stressed the importance of the sacrament of reconciliation with a view to drawing oneself to God in order to live a life of faultlessness; one has to live a life worthy of emulation.

“Have a moment with God so as to step for a better living,’’ Okafor said.

The chaplain, enjoined, members to shun envy and rather praise others for what they may have attained in diverse areas of life.

“We need to have better thoughts about people. What comes from your mouth depicts what you have at heart.

“Keep your soul alive and make yourself clean always,’’ he noted.

The cleric said the only way we can offer useful advice to others is following the same advice.

“If you are not living the life you preach, your preaching is useless; it only amounts to mere words,” he concluded.
