Imo State Stakeholders resident in Lagos to elect new officers

THE umbrella body of all Autonomous Communities across Imo state residents in Lagos, known as ” Imo State Towns Development Assistance” ISTDAL, will be  electing it’s officers for the next three years.

The Chief Provost of the Association, Chima Davis Ukwandu, who is also contesting for office of the Public Relations Officer. PRO, in the ISTDAL forthcoming election, said in Lagos that the term of the present executive should come to an end by January 2020, while the election into the new executive offices should be held on Sunday,  September 22, 2019.

According to Ukwandu (Ugo Abata N’Obi Ndigbo), this election is very crucial as the future of Imolites residing in Lagos will be decided.

“We have rotational arrangements, as it is today Okigwe Zone has served its 2- term of 6 years and Owerri Zone is taking over, after which it comes back to Orlu Zone.

“The association, which sits as Parliament of the state, has composition of 3 men and 3 women as representatives from each Autonomous Communities across the State,” he said, adding that ISTDAL is a formidable force of the state, providing sucker for all Imolites in Lagos.

The election, according to him, shall be held at the Imo State Liaison officer in Victoria Island Lagos and iIt is expected that the high and mighty from State shall witness this all important election.

Ukwandu is using this opportunity to call on Imo State government to explore the activities of the Town Unions to ensure speedy development and information velocity.

According to Ukwandu. Imo State women resident in Lagos shall also host their yearly August meeting/women empowerment for Imo women and that this great event shall attract the wives of three State Governors namely wife of Imo State Governor, wife of Ondo State Governor and the wife of Lagos State Governor.
