A lawmaker in the Lagos House of Assembly, Prince Bisi Yusuff on Wednesday urged the State to grant special status to the Alimosho Constituency in the state.

Yusuff who represents Alimosho Constituency I in the Assembly, made the appeal in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

The lawmaker, while reacting to Ambode’s inauguration of roads and bridges in Alimosho area on Easter Monday, said the constituency remained central in electoral matters.

According to him, Alimosho deserves a special status in the state just as Lagos State deserves a special status in Nigeria.

“I thank the governor for what he has done, but he should make Alimosho a Central Business District (CBD).

“What he has done now is appreciable, but the place is an economic area on its own,” he said.

“Agbado Oke Odo is adding more political value to Alimosho the same way Lagos State does for Nigeria.

“I am saying it, the only way we can be okay is for the area to be given CBD.

“When this is done, all other infrastructural development would come in, as there would be a commissioner or Special Adviser for the area,” Yusuff said.

According to him, Alimosho has so many boundaries with Ogun State and people troop into the area regularly.

The lawmaker, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts (Locals), said the constituency had a huge population which would give the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) massive support in elections.(NAN)
