THE traditional ruler of Nnewi, Igwe Kenneth Orizu, has applauded the expansion of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing, IVM, Company.
The commendation was made at the company’s new site at Umuezena Community in Umudim Nnewi, Anambra State.
While delivering his address, Igwe Orizu praised the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Innocent Chukwuma, for deeming it necessary to expand the factory and still remain in Nnewi.
“The expansion of IVM will bring more development to Nnewi, especially our economic activities.
“The expansion will also generate direct and indirect employment opportunities in Nnewi, which will further bring Nnewi into full recognition of the whole world,’’ he said.
He said that since he ascended to the throne, he had continued to advocate for a think-home philosophy to illustrious sons and daughters of Nnewi.
The Igwe, who also inspected progress of work at the site, blessed and prayed that the company would continue to grow.
In his speech, Chukwuma thanked Igwe Orizu for his prayers and encouragement.
He disclosed that he had received many offers to extend the factory outside Nnewi, but he insisted on building it in the community.
He assured Igwe Orizu and the people of the town of his continued efforts at doing everything possible to ensure that Nnewi would be well developed.
