The Deputy Senate Minority Leader, Emmanuel Bwacha, has said the chances of his party, the People’s Democratic Party winning the 2019  presidential election were well over 80 per cent.

Bwacha, who represents Taraba South in the National Assembly stated this on Monday in his hometown of Donga in an interview with journalists.

The senator maintained that the poor performance of the ruling All Progressive Congress has brightened the chances of PDP winning the presidential election as well as other elections in the country next year.

On speculations about leadership change in the Senate, Bwacha said Nigerians should disregard the rumours spreading outside of the Senate chambers,  saying such rumours were inconsequential.

According to him, the All Progressive Congress lacked the number to effect any leadership change in the Senate.

Meanwhile, Bwacha called on the people of Taraba State to vote for Governor Darius Ishaku and other PDP candidates for the development of the state.

“If we return to the 9th Senate and Governor Ishaku wins his second term, we will consolidate on the gains we have made so far.

“The Donga-Mararaba federal road is a project that is dear to my heart and if l return to the National Assembly. I will work towards the construction of the road.

“If you listen to the Governor very well during his speech, he did not give up on the construction of the road, but said if we all return, the road will be given serious attention.” – Punch
